A4TY: 2/13/13

Bloomingdale's A4TY: Student New Music Concert took place on February 13, 2013 at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. This year's concert was funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and was a huge success. The concert featured pieces by 28 student composers ranging from ages seven through fifteen. The new works were diverse and included a piece for Brass Quintet, songs, solo clarinet, a jazz trio, and a flute and piano duo, among others. Additionally, Jeff Myers, Elizabeth Lim, and David Crowell, wrote commissioned works for Bloomingdale students for the concert. This event epitomizes the collaborative spirit at BSM as faculty members, student performers, and student composers rehearsed and performed new works together.
