Tango Meets Jazz: March 2, 2014

On March 2, 2014, BSM guitar faculty Matt Buttermann presented a concert entitled "Tango Meets Jazz".  He was joined by BSM bass faculty Kevin Farrell, BSM percussion faculty, Jeremy Noller, and guest artist Ana Gonzalez on flute. The concert featured classic repertoire from both Tango and Jazz. Below are some photo highlights.

Piano Project: March 8, 2014

Bloomingdale School of Music presented its annual Piano Project on March 8, 2014.  Fifteen faculty and over fifty students performed throughout the day in four concerts on the theme, "Sonatas, Preludes, Toccatas, Fantasies, and Études".  Enjoy some of the photo highlights of the event below.

Parameters with Regina Sadowski: February 9, 2014

What happens when faculty, student and audience composers use the same parameters to create a piece? Will the music sound similar or can the possibilities be endless? On February 9th, BSM faculty Regina Sadowski and guest violinist Gregor Katzis performed a recital entitled "Parameters" which aimed to answer those questions. Album for the Young, Vol. IX: Student New Music Project - February 7, 2014


On February 7, 2014, BSM presented the 9th installment of Album for the Young: Student New Music Project. In our annual concert featuring young people interacting with newly composed music, 17 young people, ranging in age from 6 to 18, had compositions performed by their peers and by faculty artists. 2 newly commissioned pieces by composer Andy Kozar were also featured.
