This past Saturday, April 20, 2013, Bloomingdale's voice students participated in a special workshop given by baritone Christopher Magiera. The focus of the master class was on creating a character and moving beyond the technical preparation of a song. Students focused on show tunes with selections from Mame, Wicked, and Les Miserables, among others. Faculty members Molly McCarthy-Egan and Johanna Young coordinated the event including preparing their students and encouraging them to participate. Collaboration Concert: 3/22/13
Bloomingdale's Chamber Orchestra conducted by Lawrence Davis took center stage in a concert on March 22nd at Christ and St. Stephen's Church in a program that emphasized collaboration between faculty and students.
Violinist and Resident Teaching Artist Naho Parrini performed Vaughn Williams' Lark Ascending with the BCO. |
Ms. Parrini was joined by student solosits for Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins in B minor. |
Conductor Lawrence Davis leads the BCO in Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite. |
