Percussion Festival: June 7, 2014

BSM's Percussion Faculty, Jeremy Noller and Eric Phinney co-directed the first Bloomingdale Percussion Festival.  The event began with a studio recital of student performers on a wide range of percussion instruments, followed by a percussion ensemble performance featuring the marimba.  Eric and Jeremy brought out an instrument called the Gyil, a West African Marimba, and demonstrated its unique sound in a special ensemble performance.  Enjoy some of the highlights below.











Performathon: May 10, 2014

Bloomingdale presented in annual scholarship fundraiser, Performathon on Saturday, May 10, 2014.  Over 140 students performed and helped raised funds for financial aid through sponsorships and donations from friends, family, and local businesses.  Below are some photo highlights.


























Performathon Prelude: May 9, 2014

On Friday, May 9, 2014, BSM presented in Annual Ticketed Benefit: The Performathon Prelude.

Bloomingdale board members, students, alumni and faculty performed in the David Greer Concert Hall and the 2nd floor library while guests listened, mingled and dined on food and drink from the neighborhood.  This event was the kickoff to our 50th anniversary celebration that will take place throughout 2014-15.  Enjoy some of the pictures below, as this event truly captured the essence of the Bloomingdale School of Music.
